Mouth Money – 30 Days, Day 10

I have a new goal. One perfect dead-hang pull-up from full extension by the Honeymoon. No kip, no jump. I have just over 6 weeks to get it done. I think the fact that I was the poster gal for Crossfit Tribe’s Clean workout today (Yup, that’s me. Hot, I know) just proves that I can do anything.

Mid-power clean at Olympic Lifting camp. That's my "O-face."

The next goal is already lined up, courtesy of Erin D. at Crossfit Center City: To do “Elizabeth.”  As Rx’d. Considering 135 is my current max and ring dips are almost totally out of my wheelhouse…I’ve got some work to do.
Today’s Workout consisted of some work on the Power Clean (see link above) after a warmup that included my all-time favorite – Rowing. Next, a 12-minute AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible) of Four 105lb cleans/7 burpees. MAN, does that take it outta ya. Especially in 90 degree heat. That kind of sweat feels amazing, however – part of the reason I love the open-air garage-gym style box. I came away with a nice battle wound to add to my hand calluses.
War wounds.

All right – on to more important things. FOOD.
Breakfast: An omelet with chorizo, green pepper and onion with a big glob of salsa on top. The ingredients in this salsa consist of nothing but veggies – no preservatives or un-pronounceables.
The name only makes this salsa more awesome.

I’m getting pretty comfortable with my eggy breakfasts. Perhaps too comfortable.
This tasted like it came from a very happy bird.

Lunch was a big random assortment of leftovers – the rest of the vegetable portion of Saturday’s Bad Food Gone Good (Husband is a Cotton Pickin’ Finger Lickin’ Chicken Plucker, and by Plucker, I mean THIEF of all meat components of meal leftovers) and some of Tuesday’s dinner casserole.
Dinner: Yet another reason why I love the Rump Roast. Once it’s prepared it makes elegant, easy meals for days. This meal took about 15 minutes to prepare. I just steamed some veggies, then heated up the gravy and the last of the Parsnip Mash. Delicious.
Lots of vegetables and a hunk of meat. This is one sexy cave-meal.

I slept well tonight – went to bed extra-early after Husband got us signed up for Robb Wolf’s nutrition seminar in Arlington at the end of the month. Can’t wait!

  1. I’ll help you with your deadhang if you help me with my clean. Secret: Do all of your pullups on the CFCC bar, which is thicker. Then the Tribe bar seems like cake. No seriously.
